Withdrawal and Refund Policy
As with nearly all travel-related, humanitarian programs, once deposits have been received, ISL immediately begins spending those funds on program arrangements and advance costs, including field planning and supplies and administrative expenses. For this reason, it is standard policy for participants to forfeit any and all advance payments in the case of participant-initiated withdrawal prior to departure.
The $285 app fee and deposit are non-refundable. If a participant needs to cancel and would like a voucher to use toward a future trip, ISL will issue a voucher for the $200 deposit only. Vouchers are good for one year from date of issue.
Any payments additional to the $285 are refundable up to 50 days prior to departure date. If a participant withdraws within 50 days of departure, refunds are ONLY available via Trip Cancellation Insurance. This insurance is widely available, and recommendations can be found on our travel insurance page.
If ISL cancels a team, participants have the option of either receiving a full refund or transferring to another team. Any and all payments received will be applied towards that team.
