General Service Projects
Most of our teams are medical teams, but General Service Teams are offered several times a year OR upon request. Because our work is humanitarian, teams change based on the needs of the local people, travel logistics, the weather, team size, and other factors which vary over time. Students do not need to have Spanish language abilities.
If your school or organization would like to partner with us on an international project, we can arrange for service learning projects involving the environment, globalization issues, or cultural studies. See a sample of some of the projects that have been done below, then check the Team Schedule for dates and locations of scheduled teams. If you don’t see the type of team you’re looking for, email us at info@ISLonline.org, and we will be happy to help you find or create the team that is right for you.
General Service Projects can often produce academic credit through faculty sponsored independent study, and financial aid is available in the form of our GSM Sponsorship Program. Check the main page of this website for more information on financial aid and our sponsorship program.
