During my trip to the poverty stricken regions of Costa Rica, I was able to help put a smile on patients by assisting the doctor in diagnosing and guiding the sick onto the road to recovery. I also visited numerous community homes, along with the other team members, to discuss how to prevent various tropical and fungal diseases. I truly believe ISL provides an incredibly rewarding vehicle for gaining experience in the front lines of medicine.
